Ron Santo and Pat Hughes |
Ron Santo was the Chicago Cubs third baseman for 14 years. Ron always played with a desire to win. His best overall season was in 1964 when he hit .313 with 30 home runs, a league leading 13 triples and 114 RBI's. He followed with 3 more 30 home run seasons. In 1966 he had a 28 game hitting streak. He also won 5 gold gloves. Ron currently works as a broadcaster for the Chicago Cubs with 5-time Sportscaster of the Year Pat Hughes. With Pat's dramatic descriptions and Ron's heartfelt commentary the listener can always count on an enjoyable time listening to Cubs games.
