Luis Tiant played 19 years in the major leagues for the Boston Red Sox, Cleveland Indians, Minnesota Twins, New York Yankees, California Angels and Pittsburgh Pirates. He had a career record of 229 wins and 172 losses. His lifetime earned run average was 3.30 and he had 2416 strikeouts and 1104 bases on balls in his career. He was a 3-time A.L. all-star, and won the Babe Ruth Award in 1975. He led the A.L. in shutouts in 1966 (5), 1968 (9) and 1974 (7). He also led the league in ERA in 1968 (1.60) and 1972 (1.91).
