Bobby Thomson played 15 years in the major leagues for the New York Giants, Milwaukee Braves, Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles. He had a lifetime batting average of .270 with 264 home runs, 267 doubles, 74 triples, 903 runs scored and 1026 RBI’s in his major league career. He was a 3-time N.L. all-star: 1948, 1949, 1952, and led the N.L. in triples (14) in 1952. Thomson is most remembered for hitting one of the most dramatic home runs in the history of major league baseball in a playoff game against the Brooklyn Dodgers to win the pennant for the Giants in 1951.
