Robin Roberts played 19 seasons in the major leagues for the Philadelphia Phillies, Baltimore Orioles, Houston Astros and Chicago Cubs. He had a career record of 286 wins and 245 losses. His lifetime earned run average was 3.41 and he had 2357 strikeouts and 902 bases on balls in his career. He was a 7-time N.L. all-star from 1950-1956. In 1952 he was the Major League Player of the Year and in 1962 was awarded the Lou Gehrig Memorial Award. He led the N.L. in wins in 1952 (28), 1953 (23), 1954 (23) and 1955 (23). He led the N.L. in strikeouts in 1953 (198) and 1954 (185). He also led the league in shutouts in 1950 (5). Robin was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1976.
