Bobby Richardson played 12 seasons in the major leagues for the New York Yankees. He had a lifetime batting average of .266 with 34 home runs, 196 doubles, 37 triples, 643 runs scored and 390 RBI’s in his major league career. Tom playing second base and teamed with shortstop Tony Kubek to lead the American League in double plays four times. He won five consecutive gold gloves from 1961 to 1965 and played in 7 all-star games. His best batting average was 301 in 1959. In 1960 he was named World Series MVP. He batted 367, with 11 hits a grand slam and 8 runs scored and 12 RBI’s in that series. He was a member of three World Series championship teams, the New York Yankees in 1958, 1961 and 1962. He coached college baseball after his playing career was over.
