Johnny Podres played 15 seasons in the major leagues for the Brooklyn/L.A. Dodgers, Detroit Tigers and San Diego Padres. He had a career record of 148 wins and 116 losses. His lifetime earned run average was 3.68 and he had 1435 strikeouts and 743 bases on balls in his career. He was a member of the 1955, 1959 and 1963 Dodgers championship teams, and was the World Series MVP in 1955. He was a member of 3 N.L. all-star teams.
