Lou Piniella played 18 seasons in the major leagues for the Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Royals and the New York Yankees. He had a lifetime batting average of .291 with 102 home runs, 305 doubles, 41 triples, 651 runs scored and 766 RBI’s in his major league career. He won the American league Rookie of the Year award in 1969. He was on the American League all star team in 1972 and led the league in doubles that year with 33.He was a member of two World Series championship teams, the New York Yankees in 1977 and 1978. Lou compiled a lifetime world series batting average of 319 in the four world series he played in. After he retired in 1984 Lou joined the Yankee organization as a scout and batting coach. He eventually became the teams manager in 1986. Lou has gone on to become of the best managers in major league baseball today. He has managed for 18 years and been named manager of the year in 1995 and 2001. Lou is currently available to appear at fundraisers, dinners, golf outings, trade shows, store promotions or to act as a corporate spokesperson, give a motivational talk or to sign premium and gift items for a corporation.
