Gil McDougald played 10 years in the major leagues for the New York Yankees. He had a lifetime batting average of .276 with 112 home runs, 187 doubles, 51 triples, 697 runs scored and 576 RBI’s in his major league career. He was a member of 5 Yankee championship teams (1951, 1952, 1953, 1956, 1958). He was a 5-time all-star between the years 1952 and 1959. In 1951 he won the A.L. Rookie of the Year Award and in 1958 the Lou Gehrig Memorial Award. In 1957 he led the A.L. in triples (9).
