Monte Irvin played 8 years in the major leagues for the New York Giants and Chicago Cubs. He had a lifetime batting average of .293 with 99 home runs, 97 doubles, 31 triples, 366 runs scored and 443 RBI’s in his major league career. He was a member of the 1954 New York Giants world championship team and an N.L. all-star in 1952. He led the National League in RBI’s in 1951 (121).
