Frank Howard played 16 seasons in the major leagues for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Washington Senators Texas Rangers and Detroit Tigers. He had a lifetime batting average of .273 with 382 home runs, 245 doubles, 35 triples, 864 runs scored and 1119 RBI’s in his major league career. He led the American league in Home Runs in 1968 and 1970 with 44 each of those two seasons. He American League in slugging in 1968, total bases in 1968 and 1969, walks in 1970 and in RBI’s in 1970 with 126 runs batted in. In 1968 he hit home runs in 6 consecutive games. He appeared in 4 all-star games for the American League in 1968, 1969, 1970 and 1971. In his first season with the Dodgers in 1960 he was named National League Rookie of the Year. After his playing career ended he coached for Milwaukee and the New York Mets and New York Yankees and managed the Mets in 1983.
