Bob Feller played 17 seasons in the major leagues, all for the Cleveland Indians. He had a career record of 266 wins and 162 losses. His lifetime earned run average was 3.25 and he had 2581 strikeouts and 1764 bases on balls in his career. He was a member of the 1948 World Series championship Cleveland Indians team. He was an 8-time AL all-star and in 1940 was the Major League Player of the Year. In that year, he won the pitching Triple Crown, winning 27 games with a 2.61 ERA and 261 strikeouts. He led the AL in wins 5 times between 1939 and 1947, as well as in 1951. He led the AL in strikeout 7 times between 1938 and 1948 and shutouts in 1940, 1941, 1946 and 1947. He was admitted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962.
