Rick Cerone played 18 seasons in the major leagues for the New York Yankees, New York Mets, Cleveland Indians, Toronto Blue Jays, Atlanta Braves, Milwaukee Brewers, Boston Red Sox and the Montreal Expos. He had a lifetime batting average of .245 with 59 home runs, 190 doubles, 15 triples, 393 runs scored and 436 RBI’s in his major league career. Rick was always a favorite of the New York crowd. He was a New Jersey native and was fortunate to be able to play for the Yankees for a good part of his baseball career. Rick’s best season was in 1980. He had a career high batting average that season with 277 14 home runs, 85 runs batted in and finished seventh in the American League Most Valuable Player voting. Rick is now involved in minor league baseball in New Jersey.
