Joe Black played 6 seasons in the major leagues for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds and Washington Senators. He had a career record of 30 wins and 12 losses in 172 appearances. His earned run average was 3.91 and he had 222 strike outs and 129 bases on balls . He was named the 1952 National League rookie of the year after posting a 15-4 record with a 2.15 era.
